KC Royals Watch

8/3/08. I still follow the Royals every day but have been too busy to keep up the KC Royals Watch. The Royals' ejection-filled 14-3 win today over the White Sox moves us within 8 games of .500 (52-60).

5/19/08. Boston's Jon Lester threw a no-hitter against KC tonight, leading the Red Sox to a 7-0 victory over the Royals.

5/18/08. The Royals improved their record to 21-22 today by defeating the Marlins 9-3. Zack Greinke allowed 3 runs in six innings & got the win. Greinke is now 5-1 with a 2.18 ERA.

5/17/08. The Marlins ended the Royals 5 game winning streak, beating KC by a score of 7-3. Joey Gathright injured his shoulder in an outfield collision with David DeJesus. The Marlins roughed up Royals starter Brian Bannister in the 7th inning. Bannister's record dropped to 4-5.

5/16/08. The Royals beat the Florida Marlins 7-6 in an interleague game. The normally reliable Joakim Soria gave up a two-run homer in the ninth inning but still managed to pick up his 11th save of the season. Royals have now won five games in a row and stand at 20-21.

5/1/08. The Kansas City Royals dropped the series finale against the Rangers this afternoon here in Texas, losing 2-1. My man Zack Greinke pitched another solid game, but a lack of run support resulted in his first loss of the season. After losing 2 of 3 to Texas, KC is now 12-16 and in last place.

4/27/08. Toronto avoided a series sweep by beating KC 5-2 tonight. Royals fall to 11-14.

4/26/08. Luke Hochevar led the Royals to a 2-1 victory over the Blue Jays and picked up his first career win. Royals now 11-13.

4/25/08. Finally! The Royals snapped their 7 game losing streak tonight by beating Toronto 8-4. Zack Greinke pitched another great game but didn't get the win thanks to a blown save by Leo Nunez. Royals now 10-13.

4/22/08. Royals dropped their fifth straight tonight. Cleveland rocks KC 15-1. Royals drop to 9-11 and into 3rd place.

4/16/08. The Royals lost 11-6 to Seatlle on Tuesday night. John Bale had another HORRIBLE start. He is now 0-3 with a 7.63 ERA. Royals fall to 8-6.

4/15/08. Zack Grienke pitched another gem last night. Grienke followed up Brian Bannister's complete game win on Sunday with one of his own Monday, leading the Royals to a 5-1 victory over Seattle. Royals now 8-5.

4/10/08. It was a long night at the ballpark tonight for the Royals. Yanks avoid a sweep in game delayed by rain. KC falls to 6-3.

4/9/08. Royals win 4-0 behind a strong outing by Zack Greinke, who pitched 8 shutout innnings. KC now 6-2!

4/8/08. The Royals had a great home opener today winning 5-2 over the New York Yankees. Record is now 5-2!
